Successful Food Drive Benefits Local Communities

The 6^th Annual Ben Lomand Connect Can Food Drive has officially concluded, providing much-needed support to local food banks and families in Cumberland, Coffee, Grundy, Van Buren, Warren, and White County communities.

During this year’s drive, 1,656 food items were collected, with Ben Lomand Connect matching donations at 50 cents per item, resulting in $828 distributed to local food banks.  With this year’s contributions, Ben Lomand Connect has surpassed two significant milestones since the food drive began in 2020: more than 10,000 total food items have been collected (10,108), and over $5,000 has been donated ($5,054) to area food banks.

“Our communities continue to rise to the occasion year after year,” said Greg Smartt, GM/CEO of Ben Lomand Connect. “Reaching the 10,000-item mark is an incredible milestone, and it speaks to the generosity of our customers, employees, and partners. Hunger is a year-round issue, and we’re proud to support food banks that serve families across our entire footprint.”

The items collected and money donated are distributed to Bread of Life in Crossville, Storehouse Food Pantry in Manchester, UCHRA in Sparta, Van Buren County Senior Center, Warren and Grundy County Food Banks.
