Robocall Mitigation Plan-Blocked Number Assistance

Posted: November 15, 2022 at 2:42 pm

Ben Lomand Connect has recently implemented a robocall mitigation plan. This is to help with the numerous calls and frustration our customers have experienced due to spam (irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent over the phone to many recipients), and spoof (falsifying information transmitted to your caller ID display to disguise their identity) calls. We are blocking any number rated on the TNS national database as a -3 (Spammer) or -4 (Spoofed) number. This means that these numbers have traffic across the PTSN (Public Switched Telephone Network) that is at a level that gets them this rating. We at Ben Lomand cannot correct this since these numbers do not belong in our switch. The only thing Ben Lomand Connect can provide an affected number is the following steps that the individual will have to do to log a ticket about their number with TNS (Transaction Network Services), which is the company we use to implement this service. This is a nationwide service that most of the big companies use.

The website that they will need to go to is www.reportarobocall.com.

  1. First, open a web browser and go to www.reportarobocall.com.
  2.  At the bottom of the page, select My Personal Phone Number, My Wireless Number (If this is a cell phone), or My Wireline (if this is a landline), then My feedback regarding Outgoing calls and select My telephone was blocked. Then click next at the bottom right.
  3. Fill in the information on the form and add a description of the problem (see the screenshot) for an example of what to put in the Feedback. Once the form is completed, click the Send Verification Code button below the feedback section. This will send an email to the address that you filled into the form and will have the code needed to put in the Verification Code blank. Copy this code and put it in the form. Then click the submit button.
