Youth Tour

Foundation for Rural Service Youth Tour trip to Washington D.C.

Each year, Ben Lomand Connect sends two qualifying students from our service territory to the Foundation for Rural Service Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. The tour is a chance for students to visit our nation’s capital and learn about rural broadband.  They are encouraged to share their community’s story with key legislative, regulatory, and government figures and interact with their peers from other rural communities.  The 2023 winners of the trip were Isabella Prater from Boyd Christian and Cade Simmons from Van Buren County High School. Applications for 2024 will open in January. Applying is easy; just click the link below for the application. Students must be aged 15, 16, or 17 at the time of the youth tour and have some form of Ben Lomand Connect service in their household of residence.
