Registration for the 2021 Youth Tour trip to Washington D.C.
Each year, Ben Lomand Connect sends two qualifying students from our service territory to the Foundation for Rural Service Youth Tour in Washington D.C. The tour is a chance for students to visit our nation’s capital and learn about rural broadband. They are encouraged to share their community’s story with key legislative, regulatory, and government figures and interact with their peers from other rural communities. This year’s tour will be June 5th – 9th, 2021.
- Student’s parent or guardian must subscribe to a Ben Lomand Connect service
- Students must be 16 or 17 years old at the time of the youth tour.
- Students must submit an essay and meet the requirements for consideration.
- Application Deadline is February 19th, 2021
Applicants must submit a 700-1000 word essay (double spaced) entitled The Benefits of Internet Connections during a Worldwide Pandemic. The essay must include a cover page with the student’s name, birthdate, home phone, contact number and email address. Essays are to be emailed to email@example.com
Winners will receive a FREE trip to Washington D.C. , including hotel and airfare. Ben Lomand Connect will send a chaperone to accompany winners.
